Sugar Cookies

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 24-36 cookies
3/4 CUP(S) margarine
3/4 CUP(S) sugar
2 eggs
1 TSP vanilla
2 3/4 CUP(S) flour
2 TSP baking powder
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Cream the margarine and sugar.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Add baking powder and flour, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
The dough will be stiff and it may be necessary to blend in the last of the flour by hand.
DO NOT CHILL DOUGH!
Divide the dough into two balls and roll out on floured surface and cut with cookie cutters.
Bake until slightly browned.
Special Notes:
Mrs. Claus likes to use this recipe when she makes her famous cookie trees. (The cookie trees are made by stacking varied sizes of star shaped cookies with green icing between the layers of cookies.)
