Celery and Onion Dressing

Celery and Onion Dressing

Submitted By: Santa Claus
Prep Time: Overnight - then 60 minute baking
Servings: 4-6 people

2 loaf of plain white bread
1 stick of butter
4 stalks of celery chopped
1 medium onion chopped
1 CUP(S) hot water from tap
salt, pepper, other seasonings to taste

In a large bowl or albumin tray, empty the loaf of bread and let it sit over night to dry out. Check occasionally to see if it needs flipped.
Once crispy, rip up bread in small pieces.
In a skillet, melt the stick of button.
Add celery and onions to skillet and cook until onions are translucent.
Pour butter, celery, and onions over bread.
Let sit for a few minutes to allow the bread to soak in.
Add seasoning to taste.
Add hot water and mix with hands.
Consistency should be sticky and soppy. Add more water as needed, but don't over saturate.
Make loaves and wrap with foil.
Bake in over at 350 for 50 minutes.
The last 10 minutes, open foil to brown the top.

Special Notes:

This dressing is not very strong with sage for those who do not like sage. In fact, it is not present in the recipe. You could add a little to the seasoning if you want.
